Welcome to Sirc Sound

Sirc's musical story starts in the early 1990s, hunched over a Korg M1 and an Atari sequencer with a friend who'd later go on to form Sonic Animation. That early tinkering set the pattern for what's followed: a restless move between bands and solo work, spread across more than thirty years of writing and producing.

The first serious outlet was Angler, a Melbourne live circuit fixture built around guitarists Marcus Bridges and Neil Boyack, later joined by Ben Bridges on drums. Angler released three studio albums and two live albums, picking up four-star reviews in Rolling Stone and other music press along the way, and spent years playing the same stages as the city's better-known guitar bands.

Alongside the band work, Sirc kept building a parallel solo catalogue of electronic music, drawing on that original Korg-and-Atari foundation but pushing it into darker, more textured territory over time. It's the more personal of the projects, made for its own sake rather than for any particular audience, and it's where most of the production experimentation happens.

More recently, that same drive has found a home in Low Country (formerly Decoloniser), the current live project — a return to playing with other people after years of largely solo studio work.

Three decades in, the thread running through all of it is the same: an ongoing, slightly obsessive relationship with gear and sound, and no real interest in staying in one lane.
